About Head, Heart & Hound Therapy
Move beyond what is the matter with me? to WHAT MATTERS TO ME?!
At Head, Heart & Hound Therapy, I am passionate about working with adolescents and young adults who are balancing future dreams with prior adverse experiences, those who have experienced trauma, or those who are navigating the world with neurodiverse needs. As a self-proclaimed ‘business casual goth’ with a neurosparkly brain, I know that resilience and healing look different for every human.
I am currently taking new clients for individual psychotherapy, as well as offering clinical supervision for licensure
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the state of Colorado with additional certifications in animal assisted social work, and animal assisted psychotherapy.
I use an integrative approach that combines dialectical and cognitive behavioral therapies, rooted in attachment theory, with a relational cultural approach that acknowledges the relationship and safety formed in the therapeutic alliance to be the most potent catalyst for change.
As a licensed clinical social worker, I operate from a multi-systemic lens that acknowledges the person's gender, sexual orientation, culture, race, socioeconomic status, etc., as intersecting and vital pieces of their identity that will change their experience in the world. I work from a social and environmental justice perspective.
I specialize in animal assisted psychotherapy, animal assisted social work, attachment disorders, the treatment of anxiety disorders in children and adolescents, depression, suicidality, non-suicidal self-injury, and neurodivergence.
WHY HEAD, HEART & HOUND?
I believe deeply in the healing power of animals and the natural world in the lives of all living beings. I practice with an approach that combines a recognition of the importance of one's understanding of their body and brain through a cognitive and dialectical approach with a holistic relational animal assisted lens.
